Where to Stay in Singapore and Tips on Choosing Where to Stay

  • There’s plenty to choose from on where to stay in Singapore. Picking the right accommodation and will depend on your budget and your itinerary. Most of the budget hostel or hotel are located in Chinatown, Geylang, Bugis, Clark Quay, Little India etc. These locations have different prices in terms of food or drinks. For example, a can of coke cost $3 in Sentosa, Tanjong Pagar and nearby area while it cost only $1.50 in Kampong Glam.  Same as the price of i.Jooz (Fresh Orange Juice Vending Machine).
  • You may also prefer a hotel or hostel that are closer to a LRT or MRT Station so that it will be convenient for you to just walk to it. Consider also for a train station that has multiple lines. For example, OUTRAM PARK station is a transit point for the Green Line (East – West line), Purple Line (North East line), and Brown line (Thompson East Coast line).  Ride the Purple Line when going to Sentosa, the Brown Line going to Singapore Zoo and the Green Line going to Airport.
